Tourist resort Pivka jama

 Only four kilometers northwest of Postojna and the world famous Postojna Cave, a jewel of the karst world, the Pivka jama Tourist Resort and Campground is situated in a bright pine forest right over a karst cave. A well-marked asphalt road leads to the camp where visitors can spend their holidays in their own tents and campers or in attractively arranged four-bed bungalows.
The camp offers a number of advantages: children under six are admitted free, a thirty percent discount applies for children up to fourteen years of age, and so forth. Guests (and their children) staying for several days have free use of the outdoor swimming pool, and the campground also has lighted tennis courts, areas for beach volleyball and basketball, table tennis, and boules. The restaurant is especially lively on weekends when entertainment and dancing are offered.
The toust resort Pivka jama is an excellent starting point for exploring Slovenia's beautiful karst region. Right beside the camp, a stairway is carved in the rock where guests led by experienced guides can descend into the galleries of stalactites and stalagmites of the untouched Pivka jama Cave and the connected Črna jama Cave. Guest can ride bicycles rented at the camp to Postojna Cave or ride the ten kilometers to the imposing Predjama Castle built halfway up a tall cliff under a natural rock arch.
