The collection can be visited  on the road to Predjama Castle (6 km from Postojna).

The “Toplar” or double hayrack is an important example of vernacular architecture and a special feature of ;
it dates from 1883,
measures 17 x 8 m and is 8 m high; it is made out of a total of 42 m3 of hewn and sawn oak, larch and fir.
The double hayrack was used for several purposes; wheat and hay were dried on racks,  crops were stored on the first floor and in the attic, whereas tools and equipment were kept on ground level.

Today this hayrack houses an ethnological collection of tools and devices used by our ancestors for work in the field, forests and at home.
